If a phone is available online (shows up when you put in your zip code) will it work?

I was looking at LG 500g, but I couldn't find any reviews so I went to radioshack.com and found some. The only problem is a couple of people complained about little, no, or weak signal. Will I have this problem if it is showing up whenever I put in my area code?
