Washed my uggs with dish soap, and when i got a wet papere towel the coloure of the uggs washed off!?

I was looking on the web and found that if you were to dampen your uggs with a wet papere towel, then rub gently with dishsoap it will remove stains, so i did so and when i rubed them with a wet papere towl, i looked at the towel and brown coloure ( the coloure of my uggs ) was all over the towel! i'm not sure if this is dirt or ugg coloure, if it is the uggs then are they ruined forever!?!? pls help!
