How can I backup files onto my PS3?

I have ZIP/RAR files (about 25gb worth) on my computer and they're taking up space. I was wondering if there is a way to use my PS3 as an external drive. I don't want to view them I just want to save space on my computer. And also, would I have to jailbreak/hack my PS3 to do this? I REALLY want to avoid that because of the warranty, but I have to save space. Thanks!
