What can I do with my drum set?
I am really getting sick of my drum set. People tell me all the time when I play at school that I'm amazing, and I've been taking lessons for a few years now, and my director tells me that Im one of the most talented students he's ever had. I know a ton about music, and I plan to persue a career in music once I graduate. The only problem is my drum set at home. It's a piece of crap. My hi-hat is broken, my snare sounds like a piece of trash (literally) and my bass drum is thunderingly loud no matter how much you dampen it. I practice with a metronome, but my crappy kit that's about to fall apart makes it difficult. Both my parents agree that I'm ready for a more advanced kit, and so does my director. I was at guitar center the other day looking at kits, but 5 pice ones went up to $4500. My parents refuse to buy one for that much money, and I don't have much in my savings acount since I can't get a job till summer. What should I do? I don't think I can play with this kit much longer. Thanks!
