I want to make my friend something special for her birthday. Any ideas?

She's in her late twentys and she's moving away soon. I'm very gutted by this but find it hard to tell her because I don't want to dampen her spirits. So I want to make her something special for her birthday as a way of expressing how I feel. Nothing that takes too much time or too much money. Something simple but from the heart. Any ideas?
